The IGBI is supported in part by a US Department
of Education grant, which is matched by Seattle University.
The grant covers a period of two years.
The IGBI offers workshops and seminars on
special e-business topics, including e-business and law, e-business
and marketing, and e-business and ethics during the period of
the grant. In addition,
the IGBI acts as a resource center, develops courses, and
aids businesses with consulting and research.
The Institute for Global e-Business and Innovation
works in conjunction with the Albers School's Herb and Alice
Jones Entrepreneurship Center and with the Center for E-Commerce
and Information Systems to provide current programs and information
for students, faculty, and businesses.
The stated objectives of the Institute are:
|
|
Improve faculty capacity to provide international
business education through a personnel development program supported
by the resource center. |
|
|
Increase and improve the capacity of small E-Commerce
businesses to compete in global activities through training (conferences)
and research and consulting assistance. |
|
|
Increase the capability of Albers School students
to compete in the Internet economy by supporting academic courses,
class projects, mentorships, and independent research in global
e-commerce. |
|
|
Strengthen
and formalize relationships between the Albers School and its
external partners; the Washington Software Alliance and the Washington
State China Chamber of Commerce, as well as our internal partner,
the Herb and Alice Jones Entrepreneurship Center. |
