What graduate business degree programs are offered?
There are currently five types of degree programs offered. They include:
Master of Business Administration - MBA
Master of Science in Finance - MSF
Master of International Business - MIB
Master of Professional Accounting - MPAC
Leadership Executive Master of Business Administration-
L-EMBA
What is required for admission into the program?
Albers School of Business and Economics applicants
are accepted into the program on the basis of their entire history (GPA, GMAT
score, work experience, and TOEFL scores, if required), considering each factor
individually, and in combination, as part of the admissions process. The average
GMAT for the entering class of Fall 2007, was 575. The average work experience -
5 years, and the average GPA was 3.3. Personal statements and letters of
reference, are not required, but may be included, especially if there is
information an applicant feels is important for the committee to take into
consideration in their decision.
Is there any preparatory coursework that is required before entrance?
No, however, there is a Math and Computer Proficiency requirement. The computer requirement generally consists of being able to use word processing, spreadsheets, the Internet and email. The math requirement includes
Business Calculus, and this class can be waived if taken previously with a B or above. If either of these requirements need to be completed, they must be done within the first year of the program.

When can I enroll in the program?
Applicants can begin the program in any of the four
quarters: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer.
What are the deadlines for turning in applications?
Fall Quarter - August 20th
Winter Quarter - November 20th
Spring Quarter - February 20th
Summer Quarter – May 20th

Can I take classes before I have taken the GMAT?
No, the GMAT must be completed before students may begin the graduate program.

Is there a requirement in the number of classes I need to take per quarter?
No, the business program is very flexible in that students can choose how many classes they wish to take per quarter, and if necessary may take one or
more quarters off without penalty.
What is the length of time it will take to complete a degree?
The length of time to complete a degree depends on the number of courses that can be waived, which program you enter (some are longer than others), and the number of course taken per quarter. A general time frame is typically 2-4 years.
Is it possible to have any course(s) waived if taken previously or have had comparable course work in the past?
Yes, there are up to six courses that students can waive upon entrance if there is comparable coursework with a B or better.
