Dr. Marilyn Gist to head Executive Leadership Program
at Seattle U business school
The Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University today
announced that Dr. Marilyn Gist will be the new director of the Executive
Leadership Program an intensive leadership development program for mid- and
senior level management executives.
"With more than twenty years of experience in providing training and
development experiences for executives and managers, and her holistic, ethical,
and collaborative approach to training and development, Dr. Gist is the perfect
choice to lead our Executive Leadership Program," said Joseph Phillips,
dean of the Albers School.
Since 1992, Gist has served as Executive Director of Millennium Resources, a
leadership development firm, focused on strengthening personal awareness and
performance of management team members. She was professor at the University of
Washington School of Business from 1987 - 2002, served as the Boeing Endowed
Professor of Business Management, and was Faculty Director of the UW's Executive
MBA Program. Previously, Gist was on the faculty of the University of North
Carolina. Her undergraduate degree is from Howard University, and she has an MBA
and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland College Park, where she received the
Distinguished Alumnus Award from the College of Business Administration in 1992.
I am honored to join this team," said Gist. The faculty and
administration at all levels have shown their commitment to delivering the best
in leadership development. We share a belief that knowledge and skills should be
balanced by character development and community outreach. I am excited to work
with them as we expand the Executive Leadership Program to new organizations and
extend its impact in the community.
