Professional History:

BONN-OH KIM is Associate Professor in the Department of Management and also Director of the Center for Electronic Commerce and Information Systems at the Seattle University. Before joining Seattle University, he taught at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln for ten years.  He holds Ph.D, MBA and BA degrees from University of Minnesota, University of Washington and Seoul National University, respectively. His teaching and research interests include strategic issues in information systems management, electronic commerce, database systems design, object-oriented application development, and distributed computing.

Prof. Kim has published articles in Journal of Systems Management, Data Base Management, Expert Systems with Applications, Management Decision and many others. He conducted seminars on information systems and corporate strategies for government agencies and businesses of the United States, Korea, and Eastern European countries. He regularly helps companies to develop database and client/server application systems. Recently, Prof. Kim is very much interested in conceptualizing a new virtual organization. He is a member of the Association of Computing Machinery, IEEE Computer Society, and Decision Sciences Institute.

Bonn Oh Kim's article, Web Services and their Business Implications, co-authored with Ted Lee, Yong Sok Choi, and Jinyoul Lee, has been accepted for publication in Issues in Information Systems.

Bonn-oh Kim has once again organized the Global Technology Management Program for visiting students from Chungnam University in Korea. On July 9th thirty students started a three-week program, which features a number of presentations by ASBE faculty as well as an intensive English language program.

The Center for E-Commerce and Information Systems hosted a Global Technology Management Program for Chungnam University and Kongju University (Daejon, Korea) from July 10 to July 13, 2001. Sixty people, including 55 students, 3 graduate assistants and 2 professors, attended seminars on technology management. Seminars were offered by Professors Bonn-Oh Kim, Bob Callahan, Harriet Stephenson, from Albers School and Ev Mills (Computer Science), Greg Silverman (Law School) and Dr. Jae Kim from Boeing.

Bonn-Oh Kim, Diane Lockwood, and Greg Silverman, J.D. jointly published an article on "B2B Exchanges and Antitrust Issues," published in the refereed journal of the Academy of Studies in Business Law Journal. As B2B marketplace exchanges take off by such large companies as Boeing, the Big 3 Auto, and airline conglomerates, antitrust issues are bound to arise. The article offers B2B exchanges guidelines for minimizing antitrust concerns.
