Professional History:
Susan Gibson served the Seattle University Albers School of Business and Economics as the 2004-2005 Executive-in-Residence. Susan’ s role focused on building business relationships with leading companies and corporations in the Greater Puget Sound area, promoting job placement for our senior undergraduate and graduate students, supporting the Albers Mentor Program, and coaching our graduate students through practical, proven and inspirational advice. Prior to joining Seattle University, Susan held influential senior Human Resources leadership positions in two of the Fortune 100 List of America’s Most Admired Companies: Nordstrom, Inc. and Starbucks Coffee Company. Her strong and driving focus on organizational development, leadership development, management education, HR systems development, performance management, succession planning, talent acquisition, team building, conflict intervention and excellence in service and quality is an asset to the Albers School of Business. A seasoned educator with 30+ years’ professional experience in teaching, training, leadership and organizational development, her expertise includes roles as a tenured college instructor, training and development director, senior human resources leader, and professional consultant for numerous Fortune 100 and 500 companies, not-for-profit organizations, and entrepreneurial start-ups. In addition to her corporate and academic work, Susan has served as President of The Gibson Group for 20+ years, providing advice and direction to 250+ companies, coaching 750+ top leaders, interfacing with 15,000+ senior executives, and training 200,000+ front line employees. Susan began her career and lifelong passion for learning and development as a tenured faculty member at Bellevue Community College, where she chaired the Communications Department and later administered Staff and Faculty Development. She holds a Master of Arts degree in English from Western Washington University, graduating summa cum laude, with a specialization in teaching at the higher education level. A dedicated teacher, Susan will serve as Adjunct Faculty for the Department of Management teaching

Diversity. Susan has been named one of the Top Women in Academic Management and has received the National Endowment for the Humanities
Outstanding Educator Award.
