Spring Mentor
Forum
On
June 5, 2007 we hosted our final Mentor Forum
for the 2006-2007 Mentor Program year. We had a great
discussion about the program and the mentors'
experiences with their students. Mentors
enjoyed reflecting on the past year and were
able to share best practices, good ideas for
activities, and discussion topics that were
helpful to their mentees. The group also
dialogued about challenges and issues they faced
this past year and provided each other with
possible solutions to those problems.
Overall, the mentors in attendance had a
positive mentoring experience and expressed that
they felt they learned and gained more than the
students.
**If
you are a mentor who was unable to make it to
the Spring Forum and would like to receive a
copy of the debrief notes on the discussion,
please email Megan Warner at
warnerm@seattleu.edu.
End of
the Year Surveys
Your feedback and evaluation of the Albers
Mentor Program is very important to us so we can
maintain and improve the quality of the program
for future participants. We would very
much appreciate if you could take the time to
complete our online survey through SurveyMonkey

Closure and Signing up for Next Year
We
hope that you have all had a very positive
experience with the Mentor Program this year.
We encourage you to have one final mentor group
meeting if you haven't already and reflect
together on what you've learned and gained.
Students, please make sure to formally thank
your mentors for all their support and
commitment. We leave it up to each group
as to how you want to end the year and how you
want to keep in touch in the future.
Hopefully most of the mentors will be able to
return to the program again next year.
Mentors, soon you will receive information on
renewing your involvement with the program.
For
those students who have not yet graduated from
their program, you are welcome to participate in
the program again next year with a new mentor.
Just attend the Mentor Fair on October 5, fill
out a mentor selection form again, and we will
match you with a new mentor.
Thank
you again from the Placement Center staff for
your involvement with the program and helping to
make it a success. We look forward to
working with you again next year. And
congratulations to the graduates! Have a
great summer everyone!
