Description of Company:

The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. Since 1970, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people. EPA employs 18,000 people across the country, including our headquarters offices in Washington, DC, 10 regional offices, and more than a dozen labs. EPAs staff is highly educated and technically trained; more than half are engineers, scientists, and policy analysts. In addition, a large number of employees are legal, public affairs, financial, information management and computer specialists.

Areas of Responsibility - Job Description: 

Assistant Regional Administrator for Management Programs for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 10, which has jurisdiction in the Pacific Northwest States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska. Julie is responsible for management of a 400 million dollar budget, grants administration, civil rights, human capital, facilities management, information technology, and strategic planning.

Areas of Expertise - Employment History: 

During her 27-year tenure at EPA, Julie has held a variety of staff and management positions: Presidential Management Intern; Chief, Region 10's Policy, Planning, and Evaluation Branch; Director, Region 10's Washington Operations Office; Acting Deputy Regional Administrator; Assistant Regional Administrator for Management Programs. Prior employment includes 6 years with the Better Business Bureau of Greater Seattle as Director of Business Consumer relations and various posts while in graduate school, including a congressional internship in Washington, D.C.

Education - Personal History: 

Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University
Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington.

Monday through Friday, late afternoon or evenings; Downtown, Capital or Starbucks in Union Square  (Is meeting at Seattle University an option for you?) Yes
