Chris Weber was featured on Marketplace - NPR, May 4, 2004. He talked on the subject of The Federal Open Market Committee.

Chris Weber's article, "More on Complementarity and Substitutability in the Transshipment Problem," has been accepted for publication in the European Journal of Operational Research.

Chris Weber's and David Rapach's article, "The Out-of-Sample Predictability of U.S. Output Growth Since 1985: A Forecast Encompassing Approach," has been accepted for publication in the Economic Inquiry.

Dr.  Weber will travel to Winston-Salem, NC in June 2003 to attend the premiere performance of the Finale of his first musical composition, "A 'Moravian' symphony" for wind ensemble. 

Chris Weber's and David Rapach's article, "Are Real Interest Rates Really Nonstationary? New Evidence from Tests with Good Size and Power," has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Macroeconomics.

Fr. Sundborg has appointed Chris Weber as the OBrien Chair for the FY04-FY05 term. Congratulations to Chris for being recognized with this honor. As part of his proposal for the chair, Chris will be working on completing three books - one on the development of utility theory, a second on economic reasoning for theologians, and a third presenting biographies on five contemporary economists.

Chris Weber's article, "Multiple Constraints and Hicksian Complementarity: A Generalization and an Application to Portfolio Choice, has been published in Metroeconomica, Feb 2003. It is an invited article as part of symposium on Ian Steedmans book, Consumption Take Time.

Chris Weber's paper, Three Remarks on Mixed Diamond Goods and Anomalies in Consumer Theory: Upward-sloping Compensated Demand Curves with Unchanged Diamondness, has been published in Mathematical Social Sciences, Dec 2002

Chris Weber was a guest on the National Public Radio show "Talk of the Nation" on August 29, 2002. The topic was traffic in Seattle and how tolls and other strategies can be used to help relieve our pain. The show was carried on KUOW, 94.5 FM.

The July 31, 2002 edition of the Seattle Post Intelligencer featured an editorial by Chris Weber, "Make tolls part of transportation fix," advocating the use of tolls as part of the solution to the Puget Sounds transportation problem. Gareth Green and Joe Phillips also signed the editorial. Chris did two radio call-in shows that day on the toll topic, as well.

Chris Weber, was a guest on the Kirby Wilbur show on 570 KVI AM radio for Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at 7 a.m. Chris discussed the current state of the traffic congestion problems in the Seattle/Tacoma area, specifically regarding the use of toll roads. Kirby Wilbur is the conservative, morning drive, talk show host for KVI Radio, 570 AM.

Chris Weber's article "Financial Market Variables Do Not Predict Real Activity: Some Further Evidence" was published in the January 2002 Economic Inquiry.

Chris Weber was awarded one of three 2002 Albers summer research grants for "Jewish Teaching and Economics: A Survey for Economists."
