On March 3, 2004 Tom Kelley, Vinay Datar,  and John Falvey met with a visiting group of finance officials from around the world, including the Deputy Head of the Croatian Securities and Exchange Commission, the Chief of Economic Analysis of the Bank of Guatemala, and the Director of the International Operations Department of the Reserve Bank of Malawi. The group was sponsored by the World Affairs Council and the objective was to introduce participants to the US financial system and markets. The group's specific focus in Seattle included venture capital firms, community reinvestment, and other types of financial investment models.

Professor Tom Kelley teaches Financial and Managerial Accounting classes.  Tom holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from College of the Holy Cross and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire.  He is also a CPA in the states of New Hampshire and California.  Tom's extensive career in public accounting included five years as Managing Partner of the Audit and Business Advisory Practices of Arthur Andersen in Moscow, Russia.

Tom's employment with Arthur Andersen included work in Seattle, Boston, and San Diego before heading to Russia.  While in Russia, Professor Kelley had responsibility for 500 professionals delivering audit and consulting services in nine offices in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Mongolia.  Tom speaks, reads, and writes Russian at an advanced level.  While working for Arthur Andersen in Southern California, Tom taught cost accounting, financial accounting, and auditing for nine years at Cal State, Fullerton.

On the leisure side, Tom and his wife, Kathy, motorcycled from Seattle to Boston this summer!
