The Student Executive Council (SEC) is a student advisory board to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The students are all undergraduates who each represent a different department in the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the student body as a whole.
The representatives work as the students' voice to those who can make change happen in the College as well as in each department working as a link between students, Dean, and the Chair of each department.
The Student Executive Council has been around for over ten years and will continue to be a presence for you, the students, here on campus. If you have further questions, contact our SEC chair, Andre Springman.
Applications will be accepted for SEC Representatives for the 2014-2015 Academic Year from May 1-16, 2014. If you have any questions about SEC or the application process, contact Andre Springman. Additional information about joining SEC can be found here.
Have a favorite essay? The Student Executive Council hosts an annual scholarship competition open to all undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences. Selected students will be awarded a $250 cash prize and be recognized at the A&S Awards Ceremony. The Scholastic Competition for 2013-2014 is currently closed. Information for the 2014-2015 competition will be available in Spring, 2015.
The Student Executive Council annually recognizes our favorite Teachers, Advisors, and Staff members on campus. This is a much coveted award for our teachers, advisors, and staff members. Nominations for the 2014-2015 awards will be accepted in Spring, 2015.
