Research Resources in Philosophy The Lemieux Library has substantial holdings in areas of philosophy in which Seattle University faculty concentrate, including reference works, journals, and monographs. If books or journals are not in the collection, they can often be obtained through interlibrary loan. A great many Web sites devoted to philosophy now exist. Their quality,
however, varies widely. In using Web links, one should exercise great
caution in confirming that the source is reputable. Among basic reference
works, some online resources are well established or are under development.
The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy
is gradually acquiring content from qualified authors on basic ideas and
thinkers in philosophy. Seattle University students can do article searches
with The Philosopher's Index through the Lemieux
Library. Various resources, including a philosophy search engine,
are available at Hippias. |
