Biography

Jerome Veith received his BA in philosophy and psychology from Seattle University in 2005. He earned his doctorate this year from Boston College, where he taught philosophy for four years. Veith’s research is focused thematically on freedom, judgment, and education; historically, it draws on 19th and 20th-century German philosophy, especially the branches of hermeneutics and phenomenology. In 2011-2012, Veith received a Fulbright grant to conduct research in Freiburg, Germany, on historical interpretation and its significance for the humanities. Dr. Veith has published on the work of Martin Heidegger, serves on the editorial board of an international journal, and is a professional translator of German philosophy into English.
