Human Performance lab staff is actively engaged in research related to design of exercise equipment and prosthetics, efficacy of training, and prevention of or rehabilitation from injury, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

  • Beginning June 2009:
    The impact of circuit training on blood sugar in patients with Type II Diabetes. To become a subject for this project, please contact the lab.  

Current Research

  • Beginning November 2008
    The impact of training on a frontal plane machine on static and dynamic balance in seniors. To become a subject for this project, please contact the lab.

Past Research

  • Running mechanics while using a Precor multi-planar exercise machine
  • Forces at the hip, knee, and ankle while exercising on a Technogym CardioWave machine
  • Caloric expenditure during 123-Fit circuit training
  • The impact active and static stretching on 1RM testing and constant load resistance training. To become a subject for this project, please contact the lab.
