Congratulations MSAL Alumnus Chris Thompson, new CCC Sports Information/Communications Director! 

The former Sports Information/Promotions Specialist at the University of Puget Sound, 2008 MSAL Alumnus Chris Thompson has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Sports Information/Communications Director

With nearly nearly 10 years of experience in the field at the NAIA, NCAA D II and D III level, Chris Thompson is also the Sports Information Director at The Evergreen State College. 

MSAL Alumnus, Blaine Uhlman makes the national scene in soccer news

Alumnus Blaine Uhlman's research on the Seattle Sounders is making the national scene in soccer news. His research and outtakes from an interview with him is being published by Forbes. Zach Slaton who writes the blog for Forbes on statistical aspects of the MLS and EPL quotes Blaine extensively in the third part of a three part series. Congratulations MSAL Alumna, Diana Chamorro

Diana Chamorro's Sports Information Office at Princeton University was honored by the Collegiate Water Polo Association as the National Water Polo Sports Information Office of the Year

Princeton University can add a national title to its mantle as the Tigers' Sports Information Office garnered honors as the National Water Polo Sports Information Office of the Year. Led by Diana Chamorro (MSAL Alumna) and former water polo contact Yariv Amir, Princeton achieved national exposure for the sport by coordinating the broadcast of the Tigers' game versus Santa Clara University during the men's season on ESPN, while enabling the broadcast of multiple home games from DeNunzio Pool via internet streaming and providing a continuous stream of publicity for the program. Selected from among all varsity institutions around the country for achieving notable national excellence in the field of water polo communications during both the men's and women's seasons, the award marks the only exclusive national water polo award in athletic communications. This award is meant to distinguish offices that achieved excellence across a broad spectrum of areas - including national, regional and local communications - during both genders' competitive seasons, while innovating in coverage of the sport.

Congratulations MSAL Alumna, Megan Shreffler 

Megan was a finalist for the Student Research Competition 2012 for the North American Society of Sport Management and won the opportunity to present her paper as a 20-minute oral presentation at the Student Research Symposia during the NASSM 2012 Conference.

Meet 2011 MSAL Alumnus, Dick Fain: the Voice of the WNBA Seattle Storm 

Dick is a 1992 graduate of Mount Rainier High School where he played basketball and swam on the state championship team. He then went to UW and was a member of the Husky Marching band. He received his Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Seattle University in 2011. Dick began his career in broadcasting at KJR in 1997 and worked his way up to show host and sports director. Dick currently is the host of the Live @ 5:30 show Monday thru Friday and is co-host on the Mitch in the Morning show from 6a-10a. Dick is also entering his fifth year as the voice of the WNBA Seattle Storm. He and his wife Janna live in Normandy Park and have a two year old son Dixon and a daughter due in May 2012. Dick has a passion for high school sports and is a boys basketball coach at Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines.
