Biography

Dr. Hanold is fulltime faculty in the Sport Administration and Leadership Program. While she has taught a variety of courses in the program, she currently teaches the following courses: Socio-Cultural Basis of Sport, Developing Leadership in Sport, Sport Organizations – A Systems Perspective, Managing Human Resources in Sport Organizations, and Sport Philosophy and Ethics. Her research interests are in embodiment and leadership, and also in the sub-culture of ultrarunning. She has published in the Sociology of Sport Journal and Advancing Women in Leadership Journal. Maylon also has a book, World Sports: A Reference Handbook. She has a variety of industry experiences, but most interestingly, she was a U.S. Olympian in Whitewater Slalom in the 1992 Olympics. She has also coached the U.S. Junior National team in Canoe and Kayak.
