Leadership for Social Good: Translating Your Passion Into Action
Sponsored by: Seattle University Institute of Public Service, School of Law Access to Justice Institute and Center for Professional Development
Date: Friday, September 28, 1:00pm to 5:30pm (Networking Reception to Follow from 5:30pm to 6:30pm)
Location: Seattle University Law School, Annex Building, Room 142

Thinking about transitioning into or exploring the nonprofit sector, but not sure where to start? Interested in starting or leading a nonprofit, community organization or other socially conscious endeavor someday? Many rewarding professional opportunities exist, and your graduate or law degree can help you get a leg up.

This interactive program will provide an overview of the nonprofit sector and similar less traditional models, such as informal organizations, social purpose corporations, and public-private partnerships. Current leaders will also highlight what different paths toward leadership look like, share lessons learned from the field, and discuss how your legal or graduate education can translate into a variety of important roles. The session will also offer concrete ways for you to add to your résumé and skills toolkit immediately as well as an opportunity to network with many leaders and practitioners from across sectors.

This program is appropriate for MPA, MNPL, law, and MBA students; recent alumni; and practicing professionals seeking to engage in nonprofit work.
