Lee Harper reports: "Thanks to a lot of advocacy and support from our elected officials and our community, PNA is excited to announce that the final state capital budget for 2012 included $995,000 for the Phinney Neighborhood Center."

For over 25 years, PNA's vision has been to create a living, enduring space that allows people of all ages and abilities to gather together and share their lives, ideas, and experiences, creating a sense of belonging and a deeper commitment to the community.

Lee comments: "The funding for the Phinney Center renovation will move that vision closer to reality. We are excited about the possibilities and what this means for our long-term plan."

The project will improve accessibility to the Blue Building, a landmarked building that currently houses a dynamic neighborhood-run community center. Proposed improvements include anew accessible entrance and community plaza, an elevator to provide access to all three floors, and seismic improvements.
