MFA in Arts Leadership student Terry Novak, class of 2012, joined Photo Center Northwest as outreach associate. She is working with the new membership program, cultivating individual donors, community/school partnerships, volunteers, and expanding the student population and community programming.

Novak received her BFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago. Before coming to Seattle, she worked for Chicago Artist Coalition and as a volunteer for Taproot Foundation and a tutor in Chicago public schools. She also lived in Rio de Janeiro, where she taught photography, reading, and writing to elementary students and adults.

“I moved to Seattle for the MFA Arts Leadership program because I wanted a program that provided technical expertise, business skills, and executive leadership experience with an emphasis on the arts,” she said. “It was the perfect program to bridge the gap between my undergraduate degree and my career aspirations and hopes for the future. “

Novak is completing her MFA in Arts Leadership and will graduate in June 2011. Photo Center NW
