Major Requirements

1. A formal application through the Department of Modern Languages and Literature.

2. Completion of 55 credits in Spanish, including: SPAN 215-SPAN 400. This Major requires a learning program in a Spanish-speaking country. An acceptable study abroad program will normally encompass 30 quarter credits of work, but no less than 20 in Spanish.
3. Several Spanish courses have been identified as satisfying the senior synthesis and the core interdisciplinary requirements. Those courses may be used to fill major requirements or major electives while also fulfilling university core requirements. The credit for each course completed is included in totals only once.
4. If your native language is Spanish you may not receive a Major in Spanish.
