The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college in Seattle University. Our emphasis is on academic excellence, service to the community, and global engagement.Grounded in the Catholic-Jesuit intellectual tradition and respectful of its vision of the human person, faculty educate students for leadership, spiritual growth, responsible citizenship, and service. In the curricula for the core program and major areas of study is a focus on developing the whole person: the intellect, the imagination, the aesthetic sense, the capacity for ethical reflection, critical thinking, and the skills of analysis and communication.
The college provides a liberal education in the humanities, the arts, and the social sciences along with seven graduate and one professional certificate program.

The College of Arts and Sciences is the oldest undergraduate and graduate college affiliated with Seattle University, the Northwest's largest independent university. The College offers 42 undergraduate majors, 37 undergraduate minors, 7 graduate degrees, and 1 post-graduate certificate. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a solid grounding in liberal arts education along with a host of majors and minors to best fit the needs of individual students in the 21st century.
