Angela Beeching, author of “Beyond Talent: Creating a Successful Career in Music,” heads up a panel discussion on developing a career in the arts on October 15. Joining her are arts consultants Vivian Phillips and Kathleen Hosfeld and Seattle University Professors Quinton Morris, music program director in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Leo Simpson, Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship in the Albers School of Business and Economics.
“Beeching has worked with students in major conservatories, academics, and career counselors throughout the United States,” said Morris. “Although she is known in the fine arts community for her involvement in helping creative artists build successful careers, she has important lessons for all innovators.”
Beeching currently co-hosts the Network of Music Career Development Officers, the international organization dedicated to advancing career readiness programs at conservatories and universities. She also directs the Center for Music Entrepreneurship at Manhattan School of Music.
“The Art of Being Entrepreneurial and Innovative” takes place on Monday, October 15, at 7 p.m. in Pigott Auditorium. The program, which is free and open to the public, is supported by the Pigott Family Endowment for the Arts.
