Biography

Harmony Arnold is an Assistant Professor of Costume History and Design at Seattle University where she is the In-Resident Costume Designer and Costume Shop Manager. Harmony is a professional Costume Designer and Stylist who specializes in the development of collaborative new works. She received her MFA from University of Oregon in 2004. Her thesis was A Theatrical Costume Design for This Ship of Fools: A Devised Work which focused on the process of devising from the perspective of the designer.

Arnold’s designs for the stage have been seen at The Abingdon Theatre Off-Broadway in NYC, Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora CA, Philadelphia Fringe Festival in Philadelphia PA, Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown MA, and locally at Seattle Repertory Theatre, The Village Theatre, The Washington Ensemble Theatre, On the Boards, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Theater Simple, Western Washington University, and of course at Seattle University.

Recent designs for film include the independent full length feature film, Perfect 10 and Microsoft Internal Persona Films in collaboration with Bullseye Creative.

She is currently collaborating on two world premiere performance art pieces, one with the band “AWESOME” called West to be shown at the On the Boards Northwest Series. The second pieces is a one-woman variety show of song, satire, sex, video, glamour, and digital media staring Ginger Moloko, Dr. Greg Bowers (Assistant Professor of Theory and Composition in the Department of Music at the College of William and Mary) to be shown at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

Arnold recently presented her work,“Process: In the Mind of the Designer” at a symposium accompanying the exhibition “Beth Levine: First Lady of Shoes” at Bellevue Arts Museum.
