My professional and academic background is in educational leadership, policy research and practice. I've worked in and with Seattle Public Schools as a teacher, administrator, and parent leader and with local and national education reform organizations. My research interests are varied; my dissertation study explored the experience of white/Euro-American school principals negotiating racial conflict. Previous to coming to SU, I served as a researcher, evaluator and doctoral student at University of Washington. I am heavily involved in several leadership boards of community-based, non-profit organizations. I'm a family-biking and electric-assisted biking advocate and have been involved in working on increasing bike transportation choices in the Seattle area. I live close to Seattle U in a cohousing community and have two kids in local public schools.
