Teaching Social and Environmental Justice in the Humanities and the Social Sciences

May 16th, 2003

10:00 am to 2:00 pm

The last decade has witnessed increased awareness of  the need to promote social justice in the classroom; however, many college and university professors struggle to find effective pedagogies for it. The College of Arts and Sciences at Seattle University wishes to introduce the Conference for the Promotion of Social and Environmental Justice in the Classroom

For this first annual meeting on Friday, May 16, 2003, we are seeking papers that examine practical ways college and university professors can introduce social and environmental justice issues into courses in the Humanities and the Social Sciences. The conference and this call for papers is open to all professors in the Humanities or in the Social Sciences at Seattle University and at any of the Community Colleges in the Greater Seattle Area.
