Judy’s unique background as an award-winning documentary producer and writer for PBS, coupled with her artistic vision as a theater director, brings a creative eye to our project. Her professional experience has taught her the importance of conveying information in an entertaining and thought-provoking way so that the message is heard. Judy says she has always been a story-teller and loves focusing on human interest and inspirational stories.
Judy is a second-year graduate student in the Masters in Nonprofit Leadership program (MNPL) at Seattle University. Prior to moving to Seattle, she was based in Los Angeles, where she was Communications Manager for ROMP, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the well-being and healing of our returning military personnel through pet-therapy and companion animals. In addition, she served on the advisory board for the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival, where she created their first website blog. She continues her volunteer work with them (in absentia) because of her passion for their mission of presenting the voices of multicultural women and youth in an annual four-day celebration of music, dance, storytelling and performance art in various Los Angeles venues.
Judy has a Master’s in Fine Arts (MFA) from the USC School of Film and Television in Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts from Amherst College in Massachusetts. She has produced numerous documentaries, concerts, corporate video, and public affairs programs for PBS, A&E, and the Discovery Channel; winning three CINE Golden Eagle Awards, two Emmy-nominations, and the American Public Television Award for Outstanding Achievement.
