I am working as an Academic Advisor in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences and hope to be a support for new and continuing students. I am starting my first year as a grad student through the Student Development program here at SU. Previously I worked for a non-profit that focused on community development and engagement in Atlanta, GA. However I grew up in Seattle and I’m excited to get to know this city again as I explore the hole in the wall restaurants and coffee shops. I play on a rec soccer team and love to stay active throughout the year with hiking and camping, even braving the rain.

I earned a Master’s degree in Student Development Administration from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Washington. Prior to working in the College of Arts and Sciences at SU, I served as an Educational Planner at Edmonds Community College and as the Leadership Development Fellow in the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. I also have experience working as a study abroad advisor and as a bank teller.
In my role as Academic Advisor, I enjoy engaging in conversation with students around ways to deepen the SU experience. I am active in campus committee work which aims to enrich and enhance the quality of academic advising at SU. My husband, Matt, and I have a fun-loving toddler, Brandon, who entertains us with silliness. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, running my dog, spending quiet time reading, and enjoying all that the Seattle area has to offer.

I work with A&S students at all academic levels and from a variety of majors to make and meet their personal and academic goals. Outside of the ASAC, I spend time around Capitol Hill exploring new restaurants and spending time with my family. I love to hike and bike and being outdoors in and around Puget Sound.

I began my academic career as an undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences at Seattle University, majoring in Spanish and Sociology. Upon graduation, I served as a staff member in the Division of Enrollment Services at SU and simultaneously completed my Master of Education degree in Student Development Administration. My advising career began in the SU Albers School of Business and Economics graduate programs and I currently serve as an advisor to the following Arts and Sciences populations: Social Work and Art History majors, incoming transfer students, graduate, readmit, post-baccalaureate, reciprocal exchange, Running Start, and Pacific Northwest Ballet students. When not on campus, I enjoy hiking, photography, and spending time with my family and friends.

This year I am an academic advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences. I am greatly looking forward to helping students successfully plan their academic endeavors but also get to know them and have conversations around making the most of their experience at Seattle U. I am a first year graduate student here in the Student Development Administration Program. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA and received my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington so I love being in this area. Outside of work and school, some of the things I love to do are play tennis, go shopping, and finding yummy happy hour places!
