Michael Spinetta, who joins the Psychology Department, focuses his research on learning, memory, and psychopharmacology,
including the effects of drugs (both therapeutic and illicit) on the formation,
storage, and retrieval of memories. He comes to the College of Arts and Sciences from San Diego State
University where he was an NIAAA (National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and
Alcoholism) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Behavioral Teratology. Spinetta received his Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience from the University of Texas
