In a six minute interview with New Day's Margaret Lanson, Sheri Schultz elaborated on the roots of the exhibition Intended Consequences: Rwandan Children Born of Rape, showing on campus until May 29, when it will move to Yale University.
“I asked Seattle University if they wanted to be a participant of the ten universities” that would receive the exhibition, Schultz explained, “and it literally took two hours” to hear a positive response. “It’s their mission,” she explained, explaining the academic benefits to students of SU including a teach-in by faculty on topics as varied as the political climate that leads to genocide to ways in which such ravaged societies can be helped to heal.
