  • Criminal Justice Professor to speak at the Library of Congress

    Jacqueline Helfgott, professor of criminal justice, and Norman Middleton will present a lecture, "Halt or I'll Play Vivaldi! Classical Music as a Crime Stopper" at the Library of Congress on March 13, 2009. The lecture, which examines the use of classical music by law enforcement and other cultural institutions as social control, to quell and prevent crime, is part of the Library of Congress "Music and the Brain" series.
