  • Zhao to Address China's Rising Nationalism

    February 4, 2013

Prof. Suisheng Zhao, Director of the Center for China-US Cooperation at the University of Denver, will present “Foreign Policy Implications of Chinese Nationalism Revisited: The Strident Turn” on February 14, 2013. Zhao, an internationally recognized expert on Chinese politics and Asian politics, will discuss the rise of Chinese nationalism and its implications on Chinese foreign policy.

“The repeated use of paramilitary forces, economic sanctions, fishing and oil ventures, and other intimidating means to deal with territorial disputes in the South and East China Seas indicate a change in China’s foreign policy,” said Zhao.

Sponsored by the Political Science Department, Zhao’s presentation takes place on February 14 at 12:30 p.m. in Pigott 102. This event is free and open to the public.
