The works of Mary Ann Peters, Visual Artist in Residence, are on exhibit at the James Harris Gallery in Seattle. “From a History of Ruin” features new paintings, drawings, and prints based on her visit to Lebanon and Syria in 2010.
 
Peters, a second-generation Lebanese America, has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States. She is at the College of Arts and Sciences for the fall and winter quarters where she is working with students in the visual arts program.
 
“Peters brings a depth of experience to our students, including her cultural and social activism in the arts,” said Visual Art Professor Francisco Guerrero.
 
An opening reception is scheduled for October 4 at 6 p.m. and her gallery talk is set for October 6 at 11 a.m.
 
The Seattle University Visual Artist in Residence is supported by the Pigott Family Endowment for the Arts.
 
The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers 42 undergraduate majors, 37 minors, and 7 master's degrees including an MFA in Arts Leadership.
