Political Science Professor Angelique Davis has been appointed a Commissioner on the Seattle Civil Service Commission by the Seattle City Council.  Davis, who holds a J.D. from the University of Washington, joined the College of Arts and Sciences faculty in 2003. She teaches in the Political Science Department and the Global African Studies Program.
 
“Ms. Davis will bring a strong knowledge of employment law and a keen sense of what is fair to this important commission,” said Councilmember Tim Burgess, chair of the City Council’s Government Performance and Finance Committee. “Our city employees will benefit from her expertise and judgment as a commissioner.”
 
Davis focuses her scholarship and research on civil rights, citizenship and civic engagement, and constitutional law. In addition to her teaching and scholarship, she directs the university’s Pre-Law Program.

The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers 42 undergraduate majors, 37 minors, and 7 master's degrees.
