Criminal Justice Department Chair Jacqueline Helfgott edited and published Criminal Psychology, a 4-volume reference set. Published by Praeger/ABC-CLIO, the set includes chapters and articles by internationally known scholars who are leading experts in forensic psychology and the intersection of criminal justice, criminology, and psychology.

With more than 1600 pages, the set includes sections on the role of criminal psychology in crisis intervention, law enforcement investigations, criminal profiling, adjudication and sentencing, forensic assessment and prediction of dangerousness, correctional rehabilitation and management, juvenile justice, and offender reentry.

“This reference includes the work of more than 100 scholars who provide insight into theory and research on criminal behavior and its application in criminal justice and forensic practice,” Helfgott said. 

Helfgott is an internationally known expert criminal behavior, psychopathy, offender reentry, and restorative justice. She has chaired the Criminal Justice Department since 2005.
