David Blandford is Vice President Communications for Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he oversees the public relations department and directs many aspects of organizational communications.
He has served in Seattle’s tourism industry for 20 years. Previously, Blandford held communications positions in Seattle and in Washington, D.C.
In 2007, he served as President of the Puget Sound Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He currently serves on the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) Associates Council and has previously served in other leadership positions for the association. He is also a member of the U.S Travel Association Communications Committee.
Blandford earned a bachelor’s degree in editorial journalism and political science from the University of Washington.
Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, a private, nonprofit marketing organization, has served as Seattle/King County’s official destination marketing organization (DMO) for more than 50 years. The goal of these marketing efforts is to enhance the employment opportunities and economic prosperity of the region.
