Before coming to Seattle University Robert Grams, MS, ATC served as head athletic trainer at Seattle Pacific University for 32 years. In that role he managed the comprehensive care, prevention, and treatment of sports related injuries to athletes participating in the intercollegiate athletic program. He has also provided medial care for various teams and athletes including professional volleyball, professional tennis, and semi-pro football. For 27 years he was an assistant professor in the Physical Education Department teaching classes in Sport Injury Management, Biomechanics, Fitness and Conditioning, Racket Sports, and Bicycling. Prior to Seattle Pacific University Robert was the head athletic trainer at Tucson High School in Tucson, Arizona.

Robert has been a speaker at numerous conferences and workshops on topics ranging from injury prevention, taping and wrapping techniques, sport injury rehabilitation, fitness programs for the injured athlete, physical examination of injuries, and national athletic training certification exam preparation. He was a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Board of Certification for ten years and served for many years as an examiner and exam site coordinator. Robert received his master’s degree in physical education with an athletic training specialization from the University of Arizona in 1976. He earned a B. A. in philosophy with a minor in physical education from Washington State University in 1975. He began his career as a student athletic trainer in high school and after high school served two years as a student intern at Western Washington State University.
