Biography

Garth is a Director of Quality Assurance on the 787 program, currently on special assignment in Charleston, South Carolina, where he leads a team of 125 employees in supporting mid-body fuselage join and assembly, while teaming with international partners from Japan and Italy.

A 2008 graduate of Seattle University’s Doctor of Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) program, Garth minored in Athletic Administration – writing his dissertation on Common Ethical Dilemmas and Leadership Challenges Facing High School Athletic Directors in Puget Sound Secondary Schools. A dissertation which combined his passion for sport with the reality of leaders facing ever-growing dilemmas and challenges despite lacking the necessary training.

With over 20 years of leadership experience in commercial and military aviation - having served in the United States Marine Corps – his primary motivation is to serve as both a professor and mentor to students, instilling a disciplined and scholarly commitment to their academic and personal growth. A member of the Leadership Institute, South Puget Sound Chapter, he and his wife maintain primary residence in Enumclaw, raising their two young daughters.
