Teaching and Research Interests

I completed my PhD in History at Rutgers University with a global and comparative focus. I had entered graduate school with a Masters in Teaching and five years of experience teaching science and social studies classes at a Chicago area high school. My interests center on modern Egyptian history and questions of cultural exchange, colonial and postcolonial identity, theatrical performance, and modernity. I look forward to teaching courses on the history and cultures of the Middle East.
