Biography

Lee Peterson earned the DMA in piano performance from Michigan State University. She has taught at five universities, recently as Assistant Professor of Music and Accompanying Program Coordinator at Baylor University and as an adjunct faculty member at Seattle University. Currently Assistant Director of Choral Music at SU, Lee has been associated with the Seattle University choirs since 1999, serving as accompanist, composer, and arranger/transcriber. In December 2006, the SU Choirs presented the world premiere of Lee's Missa Animae at their annual Christmas concert. Missa Animae, commissioned for the choirs, combines classical, gospel, ethnic and jazz styles, and is scored for full chorus, three soloists, and alto saxophone.
