Biography

Dr. Tom Taylor received his PhD from the University of Minnesota where he focused his dissertation research on twentieth-century Germany. Starting his 23rd year at Seattle University he has offered a wide range of courses on modern European and world history, and methodology and historiography. Currently he is completing a comprehensive world history text for Prentice-Hall that uses travel narratives to explore the significant events that have shaped the human story. Dr. Taylor also teaches courses in International Studies, Honors and he is currently directing the Global Awareness Program for the College of Arts and Sciences. He has two children, Jack 13, and Alina 10. He enjoys coaching them in soccer and hiking with them in the Cascades and Olympics.
