Mac is a product and graduate of Seattle University’s (SU) Criminal Justice program. Following the completion of his Bachelor of Criminal Justice from SU in 1997, he continued his education at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, where he earned his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice. Mac has an extensive background in Community Corrections and Probation & Parole. His professional experience began with an internship at the United States Probation Office, while attending SU. Following his graduation from WSU, Mac began working for the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) as a research analyst, but then eventually matriculated out into the field as a Community Corrections Officer (CCO). In his 12 years with DOC, Mac has held positions in the field as a Lead CCO, Community Corrections Supervisor, Program Administrator and is currently a Field Administrator. Mac is a certified adult services academy, use of force, and leadership instructor with the Department.
Mac has been an Adjunct Professor at SU since 2004, during which he has taught a number of Criminal Justice courses and continuing education events. Mac has also proudly sat on the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee since its inception.

The College of Arts and Sciences is the oldest undergraduate and graduate college affiliated with Seattle University, the Northwest's largest independent university.
