Teaching and Research Interests

Amy Zimerman teaches NPLR 536 Management Analysis and Control.

Biography

Amy Zimerman is principal and founder of Leaping Dolphins, LLC – guiding nonprofit organizations and funders in the areas of strategic planning, financial management, and governance. 

Amy is a former investment banker whose finance career has spanned three continents and two now-infamous firms: Lehman Brothers and Barclays. After transitioning into the nonprofit sector, she took on a variety of managerial roles with Sightline Institute, Thrive by Five Washington, and Camp Erin – Boise. 

She serves on the board of directors of Women’s Funding Alliance and is an active member of the Washington Women’s Foundation.  In addition, Amy teaches the ‘Management Skills’ and ‘Leadership & Strategy’ courses in the Nonprofit Management Certificate Program at the University of Washington.

Amy holds a Master of Nonprofit Leadership (MNPL) degree from Seattle University, MPhil from the University of Cambridge, and an MBA from the Madrid Business School.  She is currently working on her CPA license.
