    The 29th Annual Gala - November 2012

It was a night to remember as alumni, SU community members and friends gathered for good times and a great cause at the 29th Annual Gala on November 3, 2012. The black-tie event, co-chaired by Rod & Mary Jo Bench and David Rothrock ’91 & Kirsten Johnson, raised more than $674,000 for student scholarships. In recognition for his legacy of animating and advancing Seattle University’s Jesuit mission and identity, the university proudly honored Patrick O’Leary, S.J. with the St. Ignatius Medal. Gala-goers kicked up their heels to the music of Peter Duchin and his orchestra, enjoyed an exquisite meal, and celebrated the inspiring stories of Seattle University students.

    The 28th Annual Gala - October 2011

October 29, 2011 was a very special night as 850 supporters came together to contribute over $773,000 for student scholarships. Chaired by Maureen and Joel Benoliel, the event was a celebration of Seattle University, our students, and our special honorees, Jim and Janet Sinegal. The Sinegals were awarded the St. Ignatius medal for their outstanding contributions to the community. The musical ensemble Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, "America's favorite little big band," kept the room dancing with swing hits from the '30s and '40s.

The For the Difference We Make Gala - November 2009

On November 14, 2009, members of the greater Seattle community came together for Seattle University’s 26th annual Gala scholarship fundraiser.  Gladys Knight had everyone up dancing, and the evening also afforded the opportunity to celebrate the generosity that led to the successful completion of Seattle University’s six-year fundraising effort, The Campaign for Seattle University: For the Difference We Make.

The For the Difference We Make Gala, chaired by Joe and Terri Gaffney, contributed over $620,000 in support of student scholarships. On behalf of everyone associated with the university, we thank each of our sponsors and supporters for making a difference.

    The 25th Anniversary Gala - November 2008

On November 8, 2008, Frankie Valli, the man who brought to the masses such classic hits as "Sherry," "Walk Like A Man" and "Let's Hang On" was in fine form as he enlivened the crowd gathered at Seattle's Westin Hotel for the 25th Anniversary Gala. Along with the Four Seasons, Valli had the audience moving and shaking into the night.

The Gala, chaired by Albert and Vicki Rosellini, was a great success, attended by 920 friends, donors and supporters of the university with over $875,000 raised for student scholarships. The evening also provided an opportunity to recognize the work of Ann Wyckoff, who was awarded the 2008 St. Ignatius Medal. The honor acknowledges an individual who is instrumental in the progress of the university and inspires others through service and leadership.
