Investco Financial Corporation is a privately held real estate investment and development firm headquartered in Sumner, Washington. We have been part of the northwest community for more than 28 years. We provide asset management, financing, legal and other management services to a select group of private investors. The company manages assets in excess of $900 million and is primarily focused on income producing real estate and residential homes and land development. The real estate assets managed include approximately 2,500 apartment units, 3.8 million square feet of industrial warehouse space, 715,000 square feet of retail space, 100,000 square feet of office space and over 1,500 acres of residential and commercial land held for future development. Marty is responsible for the overall management of the company including; asset acquisition, asset management, financing, leasing, strategic planning, partner communication and asset dispositions.
Marty has over 25 years of experience in the real estate and banking industries. His extensive experience covers the whole spectrum of real estate from the initial acquisition, planning, development, financing, leasing, property management and asset sales. His experience spans multiple product segments including apartments, industrial, retail, office, mixed use and single family housing. Marty also has a broad knowledge of the banking industry from several different perspectives as an auditor, as part of management and as a board member. After graduating from Seattle University, Marty started his career at KPMG in the audit department in Seattle. Marty specialized in auditing financial institutions and rose to an audit manager before leaving to become the Controller of Pacific First Bank. At Pacific First, Marty managed a department of up to 90 employees. The position involved overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, tax and regulatory reporting for a $7.5 billion savings bank. Marty worked with the Canadian parent company, Gentra, as part of the team that negotiated the sale of most of the company’s assets to Washington Mutual. After the Pacific First Bank sale Marty continued to work at Gentra to manage and liquidate a $750 million portfolio of real estate loans and assets. He initially started at Gentra as Chief Financial Officer and eventually assumed the position of President. While there Marty was part of the team that liquidated the asset in an orderly manner using a wide range of creative strategies including; loan restructures, loan sales, asset securitizations, auctions, foreclosures and asset sales. Following Gentra, Marty moved to Investco where he initially served as Chief Financial Officer with responsibility over accounting, reporting, financing, budgeting and financial analysis. He later was promoted to President overseeing the entire operations for the past nine years.
Marty holds a bachelor of arts in business administration (emphasis in accounting) from Seattle University. He is presently or has served on the boards of Evergreen Capital Trust, The Truss Company and Building Supply, Framers Inventory Inc. and Northwest Business Bank.
When and where do you hold meetings with your students?
I prefer to hold meetings on Friday when I am working in Seattle. I am open to meeting students at Seattle University.
