State of Washington Real Estate Services; providing a full range of expertise to state agencies, boards, commissions and educational institutions. The program manages more than 1,100 leases of state and privately-owned space supporting nearly 12 million square feet of office, warehouse, lab and various other space type demanding over $200 million in annual rent payments representing about half of all state leases. State law affords some agencies the authority to manage their own leases.

Program funding - is based on a fee-for-service model, charging an hourly rate or a commission for its services.
Saving space and money - RES supports client agencies in meeting strategic facilities objectives and budget challenges by managing projects focused on reducing lease cost and consolidating services.
Transaction management - RES’s real estate team has the ability to tap a vast network of variable resources, subject matter experts, and proven company best practices and processes to bolster the best possible real estate solution. Recent innovations, combined with our economies of scale, enable our real estate management platform to pursue real-time savings for clients.
Energy and Sustainability – RES works closely with our agency managers and lessors to booster the conservation of energy.
Lean Sigma Methodology - RES adopted Lean-Sigma by blending the principles of Lean methodology with those of Six Sigma. This process was applied to RES’s lease renewal process in an effort to develop a new, more effective approach to lease management. To date more than 40 lease renewals are being tracked and supported by Lean-Sigma.
Problem solving - through creative problem solving and transaction structuring RES helps clients with occupancy needs in office, industrial, retail and specialized properties throughout Washington State. Whether the assignment is relocation, expansion, consolidation, sublease, acquisition or disposition RES provides end-to-end client representation.
Statewide strategy - working with state agencies to create a statewide strategy to improve the overall efficiency of property leases, to develop consistent lease administration standards, policies and practices that allow more effective management of resources.
Flexible work spaces – RES is supporting state agencies in efforts to create space efficiencies in traditional office configurations and providing tools and solutions that will test the “mobile workforce of the future.” RES is seeking to develop workspace solutions that create a flexible and mobile work environment. This involves designing space to increase employee satisfaction, promote teamwork and collaboration, improve productivity while saving energy and improving utilization.
