Waiver exams are offered for Financial and Managerial Accounting for Professional MBA students who do not plan to take Accounting electives as a part of the PMBA program. Please review the Professional MBA Prerequisite Chart to ensure that the waiver exam is appropriate for your academic plans. Waiver exams can be taken up to two times and a 70% is considered a passing score.
Seattle University offers a workshop for Financial Accounting and for Managerial Accounting. These workshops are taught by a university faculty member and cost $650; lunch and study materials are included in the cost. Additional preparation and review hours outside of the workshop hours are necessary for success. Syllabi for each workshop and the registration form are linked to the right.
Students who wish to study independently will need to commit a considerable amount of time to preparing for these exams. Students without previous experience in accounting are encouraged to participate in the workshops. Please use the resources linked to the right to best prepare for your waiver exams.
