Albers is accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. As of July 2014, less than five percent of the world’s business schools and less than one third of U.S. business schools have achieved business accreditation from AACSB.
Waiver exams are offered for both Financial and Managerial Accounting for Professional MBA students who do not wish to take Accounting electives as a part of the PMBA program. Please review the PMBA Prerequisite Chart to ensure that the waiver exam is appropriate for your academic plans. Waiver exams can be taken up to two times and a 70% is considered a passing score. If you have previously attempted these waiver exams, please consult your academic advisor regarding how many more attempts you may be allowed.
Students can choose to prepare for these waiver exams by participating in two-day intensive workshops offered at Seattle University, or by studying independently.
The workshops are taught by a university faculty member and cost $650 each; lunch and study materials are included in the cost. Additional preparation and review hours outside of the workshop hours are necessary for success. Syllabi for each workshop can be found on the Waiver Exams and Workshops page.
Students who wish to study independently will need to commit a considerable amount of time to preparation for these exams. Students without previous experience in accounting are encouraged to participate in the workshops. Please use the resources linked on the Waiver Exams and Workshops page to best prepare for the exam(s).
