EXCEL Requirement:
All business students entering SU summer 2012 or later are required to pass the EXCEL Level I Certification Exam as follows:
- Freshman students need to be certified by the time they have reached 45 credits.
- Transfer students need to be certified by the end of their first quarter in Albers.

IV. Additional Requirements
General Electives to total 180 credit hours.
Supplemental activities may satisfy general elective requirements.
V. Supplemental Activities
Choose two activities from the following four:
- Demonstrate competency through the 135 level in a language other than English by successful course completion or acceptable performance on the Modern Language Competency Examination. The course may not be taken on a pass-fail, correspondence, or audit bases. Competency in languages not offered by the Modern Languages Department may be acceptable if approved by the International Business Program Director and successfully demonstrated to the Modern Languages Department.
- Complete a 3-5 credit internship (or the equivalent on a not-for-credit basis) with a company involved in international business in the Seattle area, pre-approved by the International Business Program Director. See the Albers Placement Center regarding internships for credit and the International Business Academic Advisor regarding not-for-credit internships.
- Participate in an international experience pre-approved by the International Business Programs Director. May include studies abroad, SU Summer Education Abroad Course, or other international experiences pre-approved by the International Business Programs Director. Only coursework verified through the Education Abroad course approval process will be eligible to earn transfer credit towards the SU degree.
- Earn an International Economic Development or International Studies minor.
Please note:
Internships or independent studies may not be used to satisfy a major requirement.
International Business majors who are international students (educated abroad until age 16 in a language other than English) have met the supplemental activities requirement.
*Major requirements must earn a C- grade or better.
