Personal Bio
Barbara Yates served as chair of the Department of Economics from 1989 to 2011. She taught Domestic and Global Economies for the MBA program, Government Finance, and International Economics-Europe for the Italy Study Tour program. She has published in the Journal of Financial Planning, The Economic Development Journal, Managerial Finance, and The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance She serves on the editorial board of Business Economics and is a past president of the Seattle Economic Council. Dr. Yates was honored as a McGoldrick Fellow by the President of Seattle University in 2005 and received the SU Alumni Board Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2006. She is a lover of art, music, and travel.
