Personal Bio

Jessica Christie Ludescher is an Assistant Professor in the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University where she holds a joint appointment in Management and Philosophy. She has a PhD and an MA in Philosophy from the University of California, Riverside and an AB from Bryn Mawr College. Her area of teaching expertise is business ethics, which she has taught for nine years at diverse institutions such as University of California, Riverside, California State University at Fullerton, and Seattle University. Other areas of teaching experience include finance ethics and philosophy.

Her research has focused on corporate social responsibility (CSR), theory of the firm, political economy, sustainability, and globalization. Her papers have been published in The Edward Elgar Handbook of Research on Corporate Citizenship, FEEM’s Working Paper Series on CSR, The Harvard International Review, Business and Society Review, The Independent Review, and Environmental Ethics (forthcoming). She has also prepared research for the European Commission’s CORE project on The Potential of CSR to Contribute to the Implementation and Integration of EU Strategies. Future projects lie in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurship, and aesthetics.
