Personal Bio
Cathy Cao earned a PhD in finance from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2010. Before joining Seattle University in 2011, Dr. Cao served as a visiting assistant professor of finance and the associate director of Master in Finance program at UT Dallas. Prior to entering academia, she worked for CITIC Securities Co. as an asset manager. Dr. Cao’s research interests include empirical asset pricing, the intersection of investment and corporate finance, and institutional investment. She has won two best paper awards and a best teaching award. Dr. Cao teaches investment and derivatives at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
